NGC 2359 is aptly called “Thor’s Helmet” because of its striking resemblance to the Norse God’s winged headgear. The filamentary network of this stellar bubble is blown and lit up by a central Wolf Rayet star adorning the front part of the cap. This nebula in the constellation Canis Major glows distinctly blue-green with oxygen atoms in its gas clouds.
