The month of May is filled with so many exquisite galaxies high in the early evening sky for the delight of observers. I for one feel like an excited kid in a toy store having a hard time deciding which one to image out of so many! M109 in Ursa Major is a lovely barred galaxy with a prominent central bar and symmetrical spiral arms. It is accompanied by magnitude 15.2 galaxies UGC6969 on the left and magnitude 16.6 UGC6940 below.
