Here is last night’s capture of NGC 3372 with Eta Carina at -61deg south from my site 16.5 north latitude. I was afraid that the glow of Dagupan City south of my site at San Fernando would ruin my efforts. The image was captured through a Borg 77ED and QHY10 cooled color camera. It had to be cropped to eliminate star elongation at the edge of the full frame image because I forgot to bring a field flattener. Silly me. Sky glow and missing flattener notwithstanding, I am never-the-less happy with the results which consists of 20 x 5minute sub-exposures.

This is actually first light with my new QHY10 cooled color camera, StarLapse portable mount, autoguider, and Borg 77ED combo from my beach-side observation deck at San Fernando, La Union. The observation deck was designed by none other than Joel himself who virtually had to twist my arm to agree to add it to the house plans. In hind sight, I am glad he did. There is nothing quite like having a convenient and easily accessible observation site next to home. Thank you Joel!
