M3

M3 is a well resolved magnitude 6.4 globular cluster in Canes Venatici with stars fainter than magnitude 16 in this image. It is visually an easy target with binoculars and quite impressive through a 5 inch telescope at medium power. The dense star cluster is populated by red super giant stars and bluish variable stars.
