Comet PANSTARRS C2011 L4

The sky was finally clear but hazy last night especially where Comet PANSTARRS was so low barely 21 degrees above the northern horizon. I had to randomly point my camera at its general direction and fire several shots hoping to catch the comet because even the brightest magnitude 6.3 star in this image was barely visible through 10×50 binoculars. This single 30 second image is a cropped version of my best shot in the dark with a 300mm lens spanning 2 degrees wide with north to the left and east at the bottom.
