Comet ISON C2012 S1 is now inside the orbit of Earth just 0.9 AU from the Sun. Its is gaining speed as it approaches closer to the gravitational pull of the Sun and will enter the orbit of Venus in ten days. ISON continues to brighten with a lovely greenish glow and is now faintly visible through 10×50 binoculars. This image is a composite of five one minute exposures with a 29.4’ x 44.6’ field of view. The tail of ISON is nearly the length of the apparent size of a full moon. NGC3716 is the magnitude 14 galaxy to the lower right.
