I had to start searching for Jupiter early dusk today while the sky was still bright. I managed to spot it around 6:15pm above a tree top to the west of my observatory and just in time to image it before setting behind some branches. The Great Red Spot is very prominent with its salmon hue. Grayish material of the revived SEB nearly surrounds it completely. The brick red NEB is very distinct. This will be my last image of Jupiter till it again reemerges early May in the eastern dawn sky. It is in memory of dear friend and fellow astronomer, Agnes Oclarit who passed on this week. May she play among the stars and revel in the glory of the firmament.
