M 4 Globular Cluster

The Nearest Globular Cluster M4 can easily be found two full moon widths west of Antares in Scorpio. It lies a mere 7,000 light years away and is the closest globular clusters found in the sky. At magnitude 5.9, it is discernible with naked eyes under dark and clear skies. Binoculars reveal a gentle glow and its loose stars are easily resolved with a 5 inch scope as seen in this 28 minute exposure.
