M51 Whirlpool Galaxy

This classic Messier object is a favorite destination and one of the most imaged in the sky. The dramatic interaction of spiral galaxy M51 assimilating the material of smaller galaxy NGC 5195 is a sight that I always find breath taking.

Cloudy skies and moon lit nights have prevented me from adding color to this work in progress.
