Mars December 23, 2009

Mars continues to grow as it approaches the Earth and is now 11.9 arc seconds in size. Atmospheric seeing was a less than steady 4/10 and difficult to focus. Never-the-less, the dark features of Syrtis Major, Sinus Meridiani, Sinus Sabeus, and even Nodus Alcyonius are resolved.
