North of Bellatrix

The constellation Orion hosts some of the most colorful regions in the sky. This image is of the area north of Bellatrix, the western shoulder of Orion. Barnard 223, VDB38, Sh2-265, and LDN 1589 display complex swaths of intergalactic hydrogen and reflection nebulae amidst a jewel chest of young bright stars!
