The Medusa Nebula is the ancient remnant of a massive star that cast off a great part of its material and has so far expanded four light years across. A super dense white dwarf star is what remains of the original star and glows blue in the center of the planetary nebula. This image is still a work in progress. Both my ST10XME camera and telescope mount were incapacitated by a freak short circuit in my light box while taking flats. I hope to repair the damage as soon as possible and finish this image while clear sky season is still with us.
