Antennae Galaxies NGC 4038 and NGC 4039

This image was slowly acquired over a time span of one month. Periods of either bright moonlight or cloudy nights interfered with its sooner completion. The patience to acquire the data is as much a mirror of the patience and dedication of Fr. Victor Badillo S.J. as it is a small tribute to a gentle man who for so many years selflessly devoted his time and efforts to pioneer and foster amateur astronomy in the Philippines. Like merging galaxies NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, Fr. Badillio provided a venue for the coming together of people from all walks of life drawn by the gravitational attraction of a common interest in astronomy.
