IC426

Orion never ceases to amaze me. My first image for 2024 is centered on IC426 a molecular cloud just above the belt of Orion. The region looks as if the artist spilled the colors of the heavens on his palette. A blue reflection nebula to the left of IC426 glows with the energy of newly formed stars. Another molecular cloud, IC423 floats on the right. Though outside the image frame, the bright glow of two star on Orion’s belt, Alnilam and Mintaka shine at bottom center and right center.
