NGC 3521

NGC 3521 is a magnitude 9.7 spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo whose molted central region is capped with a distinct dusty halo of stars. Several more distant galaxies fainter than magnitude 15.5 were also captured in this 6.6 hour exposure taken through a five inch telescope.
