NGC 6992 “Network Nebula” Super Nova Remnant in Cygnus

The constellation Cygnus hosts one of the most spectacular remains of a massive star explosion that occurred thousands of years ago. The material of that explosion has radiated across our galaxy and now spreads out in the sky more than eight full moon widths across. The Network Nebula is the eastern portion of that super nova remnant which continues to expand with delicate wisps of stellar material being flung through the firmament.
